Helping a family with two incarcerated children

  • Story

My sons took to the square on August 10, 2020, to defend their vote, as the whole town did. My youngest son came running home at night and told me that my oldest son had been taken to the police. I hid the younger one at my relatives' house and went to the police.

There was a crowd of people near the police. There I learned that half of the city's residents had been placed in an isolation cell. While I was searching for any information about my son, riot police were in my house. My youngest son was arrested and spent three months in custody (although he was 14). The older son was released after three days.

There was a court session, as a result of which the younger son got a three-year suspended sentence. Then the case was resumed and the older son was arrested. He was sentenced to four years in jail.

Now I have to go to work after my maternity leave and 50% of my earnings will go to pay the fines. In addition to my sons, I also have three minor daughters growing up. I would be very grateful to anyone who can help me support my sons in prison and provide for my daughters during this difficult time.
