Hello, my name is Zhuravleva Yana. On the photo I am with my pets, whom I haven't seen for three years, while I was in prison.
The cat without one eye is Pyha. He was brought to my work in June 2020 as a tiny kitten, wounded, in serious condition. After surgery to remove his eye, he needed rehabilitation and was left to live with me.
The cat with two eyes is Hashish. I picked him up a long time ago, when I was still studying at the Vitebsk Veterinary Academy. He did not immediately began to trust me, apparently, having suffered from people. Now he has become my dear friend, changed many apartments and cities with me. These cats are my family and my responsibility. I couldn't leave them, though it made my life in emigration in Poland more difficult.
I had to leave Belarus in a hurry, for fear of being detained again after my release. I had no time to prepare for the move, and almost suddenly I found myself in a foreign country without my savings and belongings. I am very much asking for help to rebuild my life.
Before the detention, I lived in Minsk and worked as a veterinarian. I spent almost all my time at work and was available to the owners of my patients at any time of the day. Being in prison, it was unbearable for me to think about my eared and tailed patients who were left without me. I loved my job very much.
I received three years in prison for participating in protests, when several administrative arrests in a row under Article 23.34* were reclassified as criminal cases under Article 342**. Those were terrible years from which I have not yet recovered.
I associate with this charge the opportunity to return to my profession faster and to rescue animals again and counsel their owners. In prison I had no opportunity to read professional literature, to keep up with changes in veterinary medicine, so I will have to catch up on a lot of things, moreover, in a new language for me. In addition, I have accumulated three years of questions about the health of my cats, the older one needs treatment.
I will be grateful to anyone who can help me get back on my feet even a little!
I want to wish all the best to you and the health of your pets!
