In 2020, Alexander Tsaruk was an observer at the presidential election in Belarus from the United Civil Party (UCP). In response to election fraud and irregularities, he joined mass protests. He was detained several times, spending a total of 40 days behind bars.
After the outbreak of full-scale war in Ukraine, Alexander joined the Belarusan volunteers of the then Kalinovsky Battalion and took the call sign Sashko. His commander was Volat. And when he died, it was Alexander who covered the evacuation of the group.
Health problems forced Alexander to leave for Vilnius in June 2022. It turned out that he had a destroyed hip joint. The ex-volunteer had to take strong painkillers every day.
But that's not all. Life has prepared Alexander one more difficulty: in May 2023, doctors found a cancer (squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck). After a 10-hour operation, the tumor was removed, and Alexander underwent a course of radio-beam therapy.
But in the fight between Alexander and cancer, cancer won. The 55-year-old man was gone on the afternoon of April 13. His daughter Olga is now organizing her father's funeral. However, she does not have the necessary amount for the funeral. Therefore, she is asking for help.
How much is needed?
€4000
All funds raised will be given to Alexander's daughter to organize the funeral.
