Every year on March 25th, Belarusians celebrate the Day of Will. It was on this day in 1918 that the independence of the Belarusan People's Republic was declared. For our people, the Day of Will is a national holiday of freedom in honor of which festive events are held in different cities of the world.
This date is especially important now, when more than 1400 political prisoners are behind bars in Belarus, when people die in prisons, when persecutions and repressions take place.
After 2020, a significant part of Belarusians were forced to leave their homeland. Many of them went to Poland. But this year, on March 24 — the eve of the great holiday — they will reunite again to support each other and celebrate the Day of Will together. About 4,000 people are expected to attend the event.
The celebration of the Day of Will will start at 14:00 on Plac Trzy Krzyża. There will be a rally with the participation of Belarusian, Polish and Ukrainian political and public figures. After that, a march to the monument to Nicolaus Copernicus will start — this is a traditional place for weekly Belarusan actions. The final point of the event will be a big evening concert on plac Zamkowy with the participation of famous Belarusian artists. Among the musicians who will take part in the celebration are Pete Pavlov (band N.R.M.), Atesta, Dzieciuki.
During the event it is planned to collect donations for political prisoners.
Organizers of the event: United Transition Cabinet, Belarusian Association of Political Prisoners Da Voli, group Belarusians of Warsaw, Belarusian Youth Hub, Museum of Free Belarus.
