Help for Daniel Shaikovsky, who left because of pressure and is homeless in another country

  • Story

My name is Daniel Shaikovsky. My story, like many, began on August 9, 2020 with being detained at protests against unfair elections, after which I spent two years trying to assert my rights and my position.

It all started with being expelled from college for rallies and solitary pickets. I went to all the rallies and continue to participate in all the movements. For this I was asked to drop out of college, otherwise they promised big problems for my parents (at that time I was not 18 years old).

Further on I also walked around and urged the authorities to leave. Then I was caught and taken to the detention center. Since I wasn't 18 they let me go, but they filled out all my information and said 'you'll soon find out everything. They beat me with truncheons and took all my jewelry.

Then a week later I received a summons to the military enlistment office, a year before my 18th birthday, and I started receiving threats and phone calls. Some people are on duty outside the house. I went to the military enlistment office, where I was summoned by some head military officer, and told that I had two options: either I publicly apologize, delete all posts, support the current government, go quietly to the unit for service, or — and I quote: “get lucky if you survive.”

After that, on March 20, I came to Krakow. I live at the train station. I was lucky if someone would take me in. I don't have any money or things. I'd be grateful for any support.
