After the rigged elections, like all concerned Belarusians, I actively monitored the violence and lawlessness going on in the country against innocent citizens. I was a member of many telegram channels, where I also actively discussed what was happening in the country with other people, including expressing my disagreement.
In the telegram channel “Punishers of Belarus” he added the data of his former district police inspector with his data and residential address. Because he lived near me and had been seen more than once in dispersing rallies and violence against citizens.
One day I left negative comments about the officers and the assistant prosecutor. After that the officers of GUBOPIK arrived and took me away to testify. They took away the phone, which had no password, went into the telegram and saw a lot of negative comments about the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and other people involved in repressions.
The phone was confiscated and a criminal case under Article 369 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus was opened. The court sentenced me to 2 years and 6 months in prison and sent me to an open-type correctional facility.
After my arrival, I was immediately put on the preventive register as a person prone to extremist and other destructive activities, limiting visits and correspondence. Finally, the head of the penitentiary forbade him to use a cell phone with a touch screen “so as not to have bad thoughts.
As a result — a lot of violations and substitution of punishment in the form of imprisonment. My wife and two small children stayed at home.
After returning home my family and I decided to leave Belarus. We don't feel safe for our future and the future of our children.
