The Chopenko family of many children lived in Kharkov before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with four children: Kira (age 3), Taisia (age 8), Elizaveta (age 12) and Yaroslava (age 17) — four daughters. After hostilities began, the family was able to leave the war zone with great difficulty and danger. The older daughter stayed with her grandmother in Ukraine, while Yana and Dmitri came to Lithuania with their younger daughters. Dmitry is a retired military man and had the right to leave Ukraine as a father with many children.
The family moved to Vilnius where an irreparable thing happened: during his first days in the new country, Dmitri died suddenly (an aneurysm) and Jana was left alone with three daughters in another country and without support from her husband.
It is in our power to help this family, which received two terrible blows — lost their home and a loving father and husband.
How much is needed?
3000€ — To cover the initial needs of settling in a new country, financial support until employment.
