My name is Alexander Pomidorov — an artist, journalist, musician, radio and television presenter, as well as various events. Since December 2021, like many people, I am forced to be outside my country. Now I turn to you for help, which I am extremely uncomfortable to do, but the situation leaves me no choice. As it was said in a children's cartoon, “Citizens! It is better to ask than to rob and kill.”
The thing is that I am seriously ill — I have bilateral otitis media, because of which I can't hear normally. And what I do hear has nothing to do with what it should sound like. Besides, I have problems with the joints of my legs, and now I can't do the physical work that I have been doing for a living for the last four years — both in Belarus and abroad. And because of the problems with my ears, I will not be able to perform concerts in the near future. I need to pay for housing, buy medicine, and at least a basic set of food to keep me strong.
The medicines I take are not the most expensive, but I have to take them regularly — about €35 a week. I haven't taken antibiotics yet, but they will be more expensive. Doctor visits cost more than €50 per visit and I have to be seen by several specialists: an ENT, a dentist and an orthopedic trauma surgeon. This already adds up to a decent amount of money — about €1000 for medicine, if you include all the necessary visits.
Rent costs €450 a month and I already have a debt from last month. A bus pass costs €42 and communication costs €10 a month. And, of course, you have to eat something to keep you healthy, especially since medicines work better when your body has enough nutrition. An ordinary trip to the store costs €10-15, not including cigarettes, which I can't give up yet.
All these expenses are piling up and now I need to raise about €3000 to cover the essentials — accommodation, treatment, food and travel. I really hope for your support and help.
