Catherine Talankova, 39 years old. She graduated from Mogilev Medical College, worked as a midwife in a maternity hospital since 2011.
In 2020 she took an active part in the election campaign. She was a member of the initiative group for collecting signatures in support of Sviatlana Tikhanouskaya in Mogilev and the Mogilev region. Already then she faced persecution for political reasons.
After the election she took part in protests against election fraud and its results. The last straw and the urgent reason to leave the Republic of Belarus was the search and interrogation by the KGB on July 9, 2021. In Belarus Catherine is threatened with prosecution under a criminal article and imprisonment.
She urgently left the country with two minor children: a daughter, aged 12, and a son, aged 3.
At the moment she is in Ukraine and is in great need of our financial support.
