My name is Alexey Lipen and I am a former political prisoner. Since August 2020 I participated in protests against the current authorities. In December 2020, I was detained and received 20 days under Articles 23.34 and 23.4. After that, a criminal case was launched against me, my phone was taken away and I was forced to unblock it. So I was simultaneously charged with two articles — 369 and 364.
I was under investigation in Zhodino and Volodarka. During my detention six searches were conducted in my house. In April I was convicted and given 5 years of “chemistry” with a referral. In May I arrived to serve my sentence in Grodno IDF-24. After 7 months I escaped. In December I got safely to Lithuania through the woods.
In March they vouched for me and took me to Kaunas to train as a machine operator at a printing house. They helped me find an apartment and pay the deposit. A month later, the director of the printing house where I worked fired me for spurious reasons. I wanted to know the details of what was going on, but there was no answer. They didn't even pay me my salary for half a month.
At the moment I live in Kaunas. I have no job and no money, as I can't work officially. I have almost no documents, and the one I have does not give me the right to work.
