My son Artem was detained on September 27 in Minsk and charged under Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code (participation in mass riots). At first he was kept in the temporary detention facility in Akrestsin, then in the pre-trial detention center in Volodarskogo and in the pre-trial detention center in Zhodzina. In November, he was again returned to SIZO-1.
I learned about what happened to my son from the video on social networks. All night I searched for Artem to no avail, and at 5 a.m. I came across the video on Instagram. The first time after my arrest Artyom did not communicate even with his lawyer. Then I asked him to tell me not to worry and that I supported him. At that moment he started crying. He was most afraid that I would not support him. After my words he cheered up and got in touch with me. Recently I got the first two letters from him, in each of which he asked me not to worry. Artem believes that all was not in vain and that he will go to a new Belarus.
Artem has always had a keen sense of justice, so I taught him and his little brother to stand up for their opinions. Artem is engaged in boxing and since childhood likes reading. Even now he asks me to pass him books, but these lines in the letters are underlined in red — forbidden. Artem has proven himself to be a kind and responsible person everywhere. Now support me call and former classmates and classmates, and current colleagues Artem: ask to contact me if you need help.
I ask for your help. Since we are trying to fight and now there are trials. And I am left without a job.
