A Belarusian volunteer with the call sign “Minuta” fought on some of the toughest sections of the front as part of the “Volat” Battalion of the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment and was awarded for bravery. After completing his service, he ended up in the EU, where due to health and documentation issues his family has temporarily been left without any means of subsistence.
Hello everyone! My call sign is Minuta. I am a Belarusian volunteer.
At the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, during its first couple of months, I was engaged in volunteer work. But I realized that it wasn’t enough and that I was doing too little. So I left the EU and joined the “Volat” Battalion of the Kastus Kalinouski Regiment as a volunteer. At the time of my first assault mission, I was 22 years old. I didn’t manage to complete full training because I wanted to get to the front as soon as possible. During my service, I fought in Sievierodonetsk, Lysychansk, Huliaipole, and Zaporizhzhia — some of the most difficult points on the front line.
My first mission was my first experience of everything. I had no experience, no habit of war. But I had no fear either. At noon, in the heat, our group moved forward, going from building to building, and soon reached a point of close contact. Suddenly, a tank appeared about 30 meters from us. We managed to damage it, but were forced to retreat. I was carrying a wounded soldier. Unfortunately, he died at the final evacuation point. I then went to help a neighboring group because I was the only one left in relatively good condition and with medical training. My brothers-in-arms were shocked by my calmness and determination.
That was my first mission.
Later, I was awarded the medal “For Courage in the Performance of Special Tasks.”
During my service, I got married, and after completing my contract in 2023, I left for the EU with my wife. From 2023 to 2024, I continued volunteering, but had to stop due to severe financial difficulties.
At the moment, I am facing serious health issues and undergoing treatment. Because of this, I am unable to work and have no financial reserves. In addition, my wife has problems with her documents and also cannot work legally.
I am asking for your help for my family during the time while I am undergoing treatment and my wife is obtaining the necessary documents.
