I managed to escape the threat of political persecution in Poland. The ordeal of emigration that I faced has taken its toll on me. And I'm asking for your help.
I took part in peaceful protests in my native Brest, and just by a miracle I did not fall under the repressive roller (in our city there were dozens of people detained and convicted in the so-called “roundel case”). Most of my acquaintances ended up either in prison or in emigration. I myself put off leaving for a long time because of my commitments: at that time my husband and I had a small child and I was pregnant with my second. In addition, after my volunteering at an animal shelter, we had three dogs and a cat settled in permanently.
Unfortunately my second pregnancy was terminated prematurely, then the war broke out and my grandmother, who had raised me since I was 10 years old, died. By that time my husband was working in Poland, there was nothing to keep me in Belarus, and the repressions there were only getting stronger. Even though I deleted all my social networks and cleaned my phone, it was unbearable to live in constant fear, and I decided to leave.
In Poland, I legalized myself, put my child in kindergarten, and found a job at an animal shelter. Everything was fine. But all of a sudden my son suddenly developed speech problems, he was even given a disability and recommendations to work with specialists. I had to leave my job and work on his development and support.
In 2024, my husband and I got divorced, unable to withstand the hardships. All financial problems fell on me with a heavy burden: debts for renting an apartment, for day care. First the cat got sick and died, then one of the dogs suddenly got sick. Then I had health problems.
All of this requires urgent payments, and I just can't figure out how I can cope with this ordeal without your help. To support my family, I took a bus driver's course. But I failed to pass the exam the first time, I have to pay a fee to retake it and I don't have the money for that either.
Please help me to get out of this financial hole, so that I can finish retraining, start earning and solve all my problems, which now seem insoluble to me.
