My name is Diana and in 2020, together with my whole family, we got involved in political life, and since August 10 we participated in all the protests. My family was subjected to repression. My stepfather was detained, charged and convicted under Article 368 part. 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus. All this was taking place in the period from March 2022 to May.
My family owned a small family business. While my stepfather was in jail, the business was pressured by state authorities and liquidated. Also the persecution of my mother by the internal affairs authorities started. Our house was searched and our property was taken away. My mother and I were summoned for interrogations. My stepfather was released from jail on his own recognizance before the appeal court, and we decided to leave the country.
We left separately, but only I managed to get through to Georgia. Today the issue of humanitarian visa to Poland is solved, but as a result of my long stay in Georgia, I almost ran out of the little money I had with me. I need money for a flight to Poland and for getting settled in at first.
