Three years ago I was afraid of the consequences of my participation in the marches and left for Poland. I found a job, built a new life. But everything broke down.
In April of this year I was diagnosed with a terrible disease that I was not ready for: cancer. I went through all the stages of accepting my illness and made a firm decision to fight for my life.
I had a difficult surgery to remove the tumor. I was left without my uterus, ovaries, part of my abdominal muscle (it's called the greater omentum), as well as my lymph nodes and spleen. Unfortunately, my urinary system was damaged during the surgery, so they later put in an artificial ureter. In total I spent a month and a half in the hospital. And in July I was discharged home to undergo an intensive course of chemotherapy. Six cycles in all.
Luckily, my employer kept my insurance. So I didn't have to pay for most of the treatment. But now I'm running out of money to live on.
Help me get through a few more months until I start feeling better and slowly get my life back to normal. Hopefully everything will go well and I will try to go back to work around October. For now I need money to pay for my accommodation in Gdansk (August, September and October), as well as money for food and medication.
Thank you for your hope.
Leszczynska Anna.
