I am a grown man in my 44 years never thought I would ask for help from people I don't know. But I believe that Belarusians know how to help each other and by the power of solidarity have already saved many people.
Unfortunately, I have to address you anonymously, because I am in Belarus. But I will try to describe my misfortune as much as I can in detail.
In 2021 I received three years due to political persecution and served the full term, having been released only recently [BYSOL Foundation has all the supporting documents]. During these endless months, my daughter has become almost an adult and the most precious time with her has been missed.
Three years of imprisonment without long visits was a very difficult period for me and my family. I had to endure deprivation, hunger, cold and threats to my loved ones. And all this without being able to defend myself. People often break down as individuals within those walls.
My wife and child went through endless searches and calls from the police, searching for money and paying for a lawyer, fines and loans. While saving money for herself, my spouse did not miss a single transmission, collecting it each time with warmth and love. Whenever possible, she tried to put money into my account in the colony and tried to support my mom. At the same time our daughter needs treatment and every six months she needs to take a course of expensive pills.
Financially I am at a dead end! Since the first days of leaving prison I have been trying to get a job, but I am afraid to be hired by both state enterprises and private organizations because I am “political”. Of course I don't give up and am looking for options.
But at the moment we have almost exhausted our reserves, and I feel like a burden rather than a support for my family. I have been advised to contact BYSOL to get a chance to get back on my feet. I am ashamed to ask, but without your help, there is no way out for me and my family. And I am asking from the bottom of my heart.
I also want to thank the people who care about stories like mine. And one day, I believe I will be able to thank all of you publicly, without hiding my name, because I am not ashamed of what I did and what I suffered for in 2020.
How much is needed?

- First of all, the child needs a course of treatment every 6 months. It is approximately 370 rubles per course. I also need vitamin complexes (approximately 50 rubles)
- I lost a lot of weight in 3 years. From 95 kilograms to 70. My shoes have also fallen into disrepair. Need warm clothes for winter and spring. At our prices it is about 3000 rubles.
- Urgently need to go to the dentist. In the colony a lot of teeth have spoiled, it may be necessary to put crowns. That's at least 1500 rubles.
- I need to undergo a medical examination — vision, heart and MRI of the brain vessels. 1000 rubles.
