My name is Alexei. For a long time I worked at MTZ. During the events of August 2020, I went on strike and participated in marches. In September 2020, I was detained for publicly expressing a position on the election results. I was tried under Article 23.34 and given eight days in jail.
For three days my family did not know where I was. My wife started to lose control. My children did not know what to do. During this time I was kept in the Leninsky police department and then I was transferred to Okrestin, where they humiliated me and put me under moral pressure.
After Okrestin I was transferred to Zhodzina. When I and other detainees were getting out of the “auto-truck” we were met with sheepdogs. They took me to a room that was tiled. Once I got there I got very scared. I thought that this was the end of my life. We were searched and sent to the cells.
After I was released — pressure began to be applied at the place of work. I was framed, my salary was cut. A long period of humiliation and violence influenced my decision to leave the country.
