My name is Mominova Alexandra. Not so long ago I was teaching academic vocal at the Brest Music College, but today circumstances were such that I had to leave Belarus and start all over again in Poland.
In 2020, I actively expressed my position against falsifications and violence — I went out on the streets, participated in peaceful protests. I also signed a petition of cultural workers against the bullying of political prisoners. But I was not touched until 2023.
And in November 2023, I was convicted for my Instagram subscriptions to Belsat and Zerkalo. They gave me a fine of 15 basic units and sent me a paper to work with instructions to fire me. At the same time I made Polish visas for myself and my three minor children (12, 15 and 17 years old) just in case. Therefore, when at the end of February 2024 I received another call from the prosecutor's office and was summoned for another interview to clarify certain circumstances, I quickly packed my things, and at night from March 1 to 2, my children and I left.
For the first week we lived in Warsaw in a hostel. I was doing paperwork and looking for a job. I found a part-time job as a cleaner. But we still did not have enough money. So through Belarusians we came across a volunteer who offered us to move to Wrocław and provided us with free accommodation for a month. During this time, I did the paperwork, organized the children's allowance and got them into schools. I also received a job offer to teach music classes for Belarusian and Ukrainian children. In addition, I called Ilya Silchukov (we know each other well from our creative work, as I am also a concert opera singer) — he recommended that I audition at the Wroclaw Opera House.
Ilya Silchukov is a Belarusian opera singer. In the fall of 2020, he was fired from the Opera House for participating in the recording of the video Culture for Strike. Since then, Ilya moved to the United States, made his debut at the world-famous La Scala theater in Milan and was invited to play the lead role in the opera King Stach's Wild Hunt, which premiered in London — BYSOL note.
But there is one problem: in 10 days I and my children will have to vacate my accommodation. Those are the conditions. To find funds for an apartment in this time I do not have time. And I am very afraid that the children may find themselves without a roof over their heads. If it were not for this circumstance, I would not have asked for help at all. But there is no money, including for essentials for children. That is why I appeal to you for help.
