Aid to an activist family in Poland

  • Story

My name is Marina.

I am a 3D artist from Belarus, now living in Poland and looking for a job. But about everything in order…

In 2020, after the elections, my husband and I participated in many protests — we went on marches, stood in solidarity chains, and drove slowly to prevent the movement of law enforcers.

During one of these marches I was detained. At first I was given a day, and a month later I was searched and tried in court, where I was appointed a suspect in a criminal case (Article 342 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus — organization and preparation of actions that grossly violate public order, or active participation in them).

Everything was quiet until 2023. We lived in Belarus and tried to somehow adapt to the new reality. However, at the end of 2022, police officers started calling us and asking where we were. Then my husband and I were summoned for interrogation. We were scared, made humanitarian visas and left for Poland.

At the new place we encountered difficulties. The old employer doesn't want to work with us, it is difficult to find a new job through the incubator, and we can't open a sole proprietorship yet. Something on a small part-time job, but the money is still not enough.

We would be grateful if you could support us with money while we are looking for a job.
