This is a fundraising campaign to support the youngest victims of Belarus's political repression – the children of political prisoners, both in Belarus and abroad. Together, we have the opportunity to make a real difference in their lives.
Every year, BYSOL receives around 200 applications for its annual Back-to-School Campaign. Families apply when one or both parents are imprisoned or have been convicted on politically motivated charges. In most cases, these families face serious financial hardship, and preparing a child for school becomes an additional burden they simply cannot afford.
A grant of €100 per child through this campaign helps cover the most essential expenses, including school supplies and at least part of the cost of school clothing. These are simple but important things that help children feel equal to their classmates. Just as importantly, this support reminds both children and their parents that they are not alone – that there are many people who care.

Who is eligible for support?
Applications are accepted from:
- families of political prisoners with children, where one or both parents have been imprisoned for at least three months (including those serving confinement in an open correctional facility, with or without mandatory assignment)
- former political prisoners with children who were released on or after January 1, 2024
Applications may be submitted by parents living either in Belarus or abroad.
To receive assistance, applicants must complete the application form. If you are concerned about your safety, you may submit the form without attaching any documents. We will contact you privately to clarify the necessary information.
