Emergency surgery for the son of a political refugee

  • Story

Olga Pashkovich and her son Timofey were forced to flee Belarus because of persecution by the authorities. The boy's mother was criminally prosecuted and threatened to take the child away because of her participation in rallies.

In Belarus, Timofey underwent surgery and had metal structures installed in his legs. Because of the heavy load during the moving the structures moved and they urgently need to be removed, because because of this displacement the child is in severe pain, he can't go to school or even sleep, and constantly takes painkillers.

The family is now in Poland. Olga applied for asylum and Polish doctors put Timofey on a waiting list for surgery. But no one knows when it will be, and the boy is already in a lot of pain.

This terrible situation can be solved by paying for the surgery, which along with the rehabilitation costs 2,060 euros.

“It is very important for us to raise the money as soon as possible, because in Poland everyone goes on Christmas vacations and clinics will not work for a long time. And after the surgery, my son will be able to walk without pain, sleep normally, and study with other children. This operation will be the biggest gift for both of us,” said Olga.
