My story began, as many do, on August 9, 2020, with an arrest at a protest against election fraud. There I went through torture, violence, and simply inhumane detention conditions.
Then, over the next two years, I was repeatedly detained on trumped-up administrative reports. On September 1, 2022, I was detained at my workplace under criminal charges for participating in the 2020 protests. During the almost 3.5 months in the detention center, my nervous system became severely compromised, which affected my skin problems: eczema, which I had never had before, began.
After the court verdict, which turned out to be the mildest that could be expected in our reality, my jubilation didn't last long. Immediately upon my return home I was met with a broken door, disconnected and sealed gas, electricity and water, and a huge utility bill. My workplace informed me of their unwillingness to extend my contract, so after working until the end of December I lost my job. On January 17, 2023 I was detained in my own apartment for disobedience and placed in custody for 24 hours. That is why I am asking for help from our incredible Belarusians and I will be grateful to everyone for their solidarity.
