Ex-political prisoner needs help paying off utility debts

  • Story

In September 2020, I stood up for a passerby on the street and got into an altercation with police officers. Initially it was a “verbal altercation,” which later escalated into a fight.

While defending another person, I started pulling the police officers away by their jackets and tore off two shoulder straps. There were a bunch of people standing. Everyone was waving their arms, trying to fight back. We were pushed and thrown. I defended myself and the man as best I could. I hit one of the employees on the head with my fist.

Subsequently a criminal case was filed against me. The sentence was two years in prison. At that time I was 19 years old. Now I'm serving a suspended sentence.

I need help to pay off debts of utilities, which were formed for many years in the house where I was registered, but did not live, because my mother was deprived of parental rights while I was in pre-trial detention. As a result of the court proceedings — the debts were divided among all family members. This affected me as well. I would be grateful to anyone who can help me get out of a difficult situation.

How much is needed?

1,250 € — utility bill arrears; food; clothes; money for the first time, until I find a steady job.
