My mother, 44-year-old Alena Movshuk, was detained on the night of August 10 in Pinsk. She is accused of participation in mass riots under part 2 of article 293 of the Criminal Code. According to the police, her mother allegedly swung a stick at police officers (riot police). The reason was a video, found by law enforcers in the phone of one of the detainees: it shows a woman, resembling mom, either swinging at law enforcers or hitting them on the shields with a stick, plucked from a flowerbed.
We did not know her whereabouts or her condition for four days after she was detained. Later, Mom's cellmate contacted us and told us that Mom was in her cell “naked, barefoot, and beaten. According to this woman, mom was taken to the cell with bruises. Later she was taken to the hospital.
Mom was sentenced to six years in a minimum security penal colony.
As mom reported in her letters, she was registered as prone to taking the administration with hostage-taking and aggression.
We have five children in the family: Yulia, Karina, Angelina, Olga and Denis. We have three daughters: one is an adult and two are minors. Ten-year-old Angelina was taken from school to a social shelter on September 17, because her mother's husband is her stepfather. Movshuk's youngest child is five years old.
I am the eldest daughter, I am 19 years old.I am now pregnant (my future child with a congenital facial malformation) and I have a young daughter in my arms. The grandmother did not see her granddaughter because she was already in jail.
We are asking for help, as we can not cope on our own with all the circumstances.
How much is needed?
2000 € — for the mother's care, household expenses, lawyers and help for the child.
