KGB, GUBOPiK, Investigative Committee — all these structures were in my life only because I posted a photo of a law enforcement officer in the Telegram channel.
Hello!
My name is Irina Goryashina, I am a mom of two girls and a former political prisoner.
I was detained on August 23, 2021 for leaving messages and posting a photo of a law enforcement officer in the telegram channel Mozyr-97. I was sent first to the temporary detention center, where they immediately took away my mattress and deprived me of gear. So, almost incommunicado and on bare boards, I spent a month and a half. During this time I went through interrogations, threats and coronavirus on my legs. But none of that compares to the pain I carried from being separated from my girls. After all, 2 months after my arrest, my youngest daughter started having vision and heart problems.
I was hoping that the court would sentence me to home chemistry (a type of punishment where the convicted person remains free but with restrictions — BYSOL note), but I was sentenced to real imprisonment for 2 years. Everyone was crying in court, but I tried to hold on so as not to upset my loved ones even more.
After my release I could not stay in the country and left Belarus. Now I am in Poland and I am starting everything from scratch.
