My name is Ruslan Huseynov. After the events of 2020, I was actively involved in the “partisanship” of our city. Immediately after the so-called elections I put up our national flag on my house, which basically started the pressure from the local authorities. I was asked to take down the flag for a long time, but I stood my ground. However, when the authorities threatened me, I still had to take it down. Then I was periodically searched and interrogated on trumped-up cases, in which they tried to make me a possible suspect. The searches were carried out both at home and in the workplace. The searches were carried out simultaneously by the police and KGB. Then they left me alone for a while, but this year police officers started coming to my house again to hold so-called “conversations”.
In February of this year, they found a 2016 repost from the Charter and Belsat websites on my Facebook page. For this repost, riot police and GUBOPik burst into my workplace, detained me and took me to the local police station. Then they took me to Hrodna, to Kastrychnitski District Detention Center. I stayed there for 24 hours. Then they took me back to Volkovysk for the “trial”. I was fined, after which it seemed that that was the end of it. However, immediately after leaving the police station they took me in hand again and took me to the main office of the Investigative Committee in Grodno. There I was interrogated, and during the interrogation they attributed my participation in the “Peramog plan”. They put me in the TDF as a suspect in a criminal case under Article 361-1. However, for reasons I still do not understand, I was released after three days on written undertaking not to disclose until the trial. I used this opportunity to leave the country.
Now I am in a difficult financial situation: I don't have a job and I don't have a place to live. I need to rent an apartment, as my wife and children are coming to visit me soon. I need a lot of money for that right away. In Europe, you have to pay a double deposit in advance for housing, plus expenses for the first time. So I can't do without outside help.
