A Belarusian volunteer medic evacuated wounded soldiers from the front line. After a serious injury and surgery, he was left without income. €550 is needed to cover rehabilitation and support his family for 4–6 weeks.
Hello. My call sign is “Kozak”. I am a Belarusian volunteer from Minsk.
After the events of 2020, I moved to Ukraine. I worked as a manager, raised my daughter, and made ordinary plans for the future. But in February 2022, that life ended, and I joined the volunteers.
I began my service in the “Pahonia” unit. Later, together with a medevac team, I transferred to the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade. For almost a year, we evacuated wounded soldiers from the front line.
It was a difficult year. But throughout that time, we did not lose a single crew member. There were injuries and dangerous missions – but everyone survived.
Belarusians who supported us through BYSOL played a part in that. Thanks to your help, we repaired vehicles, purchased essential equipment, and continued going out on missions. Your support quite literally saved lives.
Later, for several reasons, I left the service. An additional heavy blow was the death of my wife’s brother in the combat zone – after that, the decision to leave became final.
Today, I am turning to you with a personal request.
Recently, I suffered a serious injury – a torn shoulder ligament. I underwent surgery and now face a long period of rehabilitation and recovery. Because of this injury, I lost my job and stable income. I am physically limited and cannot fully provide for my family. Treatment requires both time and money.
It is not easy to ask for help. But I know that Belarusians stand by their own when times are hard.
The amount may not seem large, but for my family right now, it is critical. It will allow me to complete rehabilitation, maintain basic stability, and return to normal life.
