Support for activist who was detained for laying flowers outside the Ukrainian Embassy

  • Story

In 2017, I went to university on a budget. My academic record was excellent. I received a red diploma, and then I went to work on a placement. While at this point in my life's journey, I also found myself in prison.

Wanting to express my disagreement with the military actions on the territory of Ukraine, I decided to lay flowers near the Embassy of Ukraine in Belarus. This action was probably considered a “dangerous crime” and I was given 15 days in jail. When they expired, I was told at the place of my assignment that I was fired for absenteeism. Apparently, being in jail is no longer considered a valid reason for missing work.

I am now required to pay thirty thousand eight hundred forty-four rubles 00 kopeks (verbatim) for the seventeen months I have not worked. I do not have that much money to pay the restitution. I would like to ask for help in getting out of this situation.
