In 2020, I participated in “guerrilla” actions and put up posters on the streets of my city talking about violence and injustice in the country. I was detained and sentenced to a 3-year general regime colony under Article 368 of the Criminal Code (insulting the President of the Republic of Belarus) [BYSOL has all supporting documents].
I was recently released after serving the whole term. I was naturally fired from my job, and it is very difficult to find a new one, because employers are afraid to contact a former political prisoner.
While I was in the colony, I kept getting utility bills. I also accrued penalties. Today my debt amounts to 5400 Belarusian rubles. Some of the money is my own, some of it was lent by friends. But it is not enough.
I ask you to help me deal with this burden, so that it would be easier for me to adapt to a new life with the status of a former political prisoner.
