Before the war, we worked to protect women's rights and fight violence against women and children in Ukraine. Now, in the context of war, we provide targeted assistance to women from vulnerable groups, including women with young children, women with multiple children, elderly women, women with disabilities, and LGBTQ women. We send our aid to 6 regions, including cities and towns such as Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and Kherson.
Who is our beneficiary?
Women and children affected by the war. These are mothers with young children, future or multiple mothers. These are women with disabilities or serious illnesses, including those who cannot move independently and are bedridden. Just under half of these women are 60+.
In March, we opened temporary shelters for women and children who have left their homes in now hotspots in Ukraine. We fully cover the expenses of these shelters, each of which can accommodate up to 20 women and children. Now we need to equip the shelters with additional beds due to overcrowding and demand.
Modular beds are what will help us accommodate more women and children and thereby provide them with safety! That is why we are launching a campaign to raise funds for the production of such beds!
How many beds do we need?
55 beds. Together with JSC Likmere, Latvijas Finieris Group, and JSC DUV, we are launching a fundraising campaign for the components to create modular beds, and we need your support!
How much is needed?
We need to raise 7,018 euros to pay for materials and the production of modular beds and mattresses for them.
