It's hard to even imagine how times of repression affect the lives of children whose parents are locked up in prison for the truth. Being left without a mom or dad for months or years is stressful for any child.
Immediately after their release, many former political prisoners are left without jobs or livelihoods. In addition to finding money to live on and pay off huge fines, they are forced to find money for kindergartens and schools, as well as basic necessities and school supplies for their children.
Even according to official data, collecting one child for school costs 1000 rubles. So where to get that kind of money for those who have been abolished by their own state?
We are launching a new collection to help former political prisoners who have children.
We will support 30 families with a small amount of money that can cover some of their children's expenses.
